Boehringer Ingelheim Awards for Advancing Research in Respiratory Disease (AWARRD) to Return Revamped in 2022

Since the inception of the Awards for Advancing Research in Respiratory Disease (AWARRD) nearly 20 years ago, Boehringer Ingelheim has provided more than $1.5 million to support the development of less costly, innovative diagnostic testing and sampling processes; identification of more effective biosecurity practices; and development of new risk assessment tools, intervention programs and vaccination strategies. The AWARRD program is a source of great pride for Boehringer Ingelheim and a key initiative in its support of the swine industry. The program's impact can be seen on farms every day in production and veterinary practices developed as a direct result of AWARRD-funded research. And in 2022, Boehringer Ingelheim is excited to broaden that impact.

While AASV members will not see 2022 recipients awarded at the Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, they should keep their eyes peeled for news about the program relaunching and a call for proposals around March 1.
