Position Announcement: Marketing Solutions Specialist

GlobalVetLINK seeks a Marketing Communications Specialist to coordinate and implement marketing communication projects with responsibilities that include public relations, special events management, advertising, and creating brand awareness. S/he must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. S/he must perform a variety of tasks with certain degree of creativity and problem solving.

The Marketing Communications Specialist must have a thorough understanding of the marketing goals and Key Performance Indicators. S/he will work closely with the Marketing Communication Manager to strive to meet and exceed these benchmarks through marketing efforts and execution of the GVL Corporate Marketing Plan.

The Marketing Communications Specialist must develop and maintain strong communication and interpersonal relationships with internal team members, as well as publication contacts and public relations contacts throughout the industry. Additionally, s/he will manage all aspects of trade show planning, preparation, and logistics, including special events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works to coordinate and execute on Marketing Plan including product launch and promotional activities, advertising, trade show coordination, company and product communications.
  • Coordinate and manage trade show strategies, schedules, promotional activities and logistics including registration, scheduling, booth space requirements, show objectives, staff scheduling and shipping materials.
  • Assists in planning, creation, and production of all marketing materials, including but not limited to sales literature, videos, and website content.
  • Support SEO initiatives for company website and provide main marketing resource for the GVL Website.
  • Leads company’s social media efforts to assist in growth of GlobalVetLINK brand recognition.
  • Acquires, develops, and cleans mailing lists, researching missing or incorrect information, while maintaining current contacts database in both NetSuite and MailChimp.
  • Assist in managing expense budget to ensure desired return on investment.
  • Coordinate regular reporting for Marketing effectiveness, including ROI on all lead generation activities that are outlined in the marketing plan, and monthly status updates.
  • Assist in the development of the marketing team.
  • Develop and execute email marketing and communication including generating content and writing copy, creating graphics and designing email art, collecting and organizing contact lists, and distributing emails.
  • Responsible for the creation of content and distribution of company and product press releases.
  • Serves as a liaison with outside consultants, copywriters, graphic designers and advertising agencies.
  • Assist in planning for product launches and product-specific promotional programs.
  • Coordinate articles and interviews regarding organization's promotional activities, and ensures adherence to corporate identity standards.
  • Works with marketing manager and sales teams to develop lead generations campaigns and measure effectiveness including all segments for the business.
  • Assists with legal issues including trademark, branding, appropriate press management, disclosure of information, etc.
  • Assist in conducting focus groups and other research to evaluate effectiveness of marketing communications.
  • Evaluates research regarding new market trends and market reaction to promotional activities in order to recommend strategy adjustments.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • BS/BA Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field;
  • At least 3-5 years related work experience;
  • Experience within the animal health, agriculture, and/or software industries preferred;
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite desire but not required;
  • Must have strong problem solving skills;
  • Must demonstrate a driven and self-directed approach to tasks and responsibility;
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of basic marketing principles;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products;
  • Some periodic travel may be required (<5%);
  • Strong presentation skills to professional and technical audiences;
  • Demonstrated ability to create and foster relationships with industry players, agencies, key customers, and internal staff
  • History of and willingness to embrace technology. Working knowledge of Internet technologies and SaaS experience highly desired;
  • Ability to work effectively with broad range of customer types ranging from end users to key decision makers, owners and/or senior management;
  • A strong commitment and compassion for Animal Health and Sciences field;
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner in a fast paced, high reward environment;
  • Exhibit professionalism in all internal and external environments exemplifying GVL’s core values;
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively with minimal direct supervision.
