Responsibilities

The role of the Swine Veterinary Advisor is to work within the Global Marketing Technical Leadership group, representing swine and veterinary medicine. The Global Marketing Technical Leadership group is responsible for:

• Leading post-approval studies (PAS) on Elanco products with impact on a global level,

• Interpreting scientific materials and data into clear messages and material development,

• Consultation to internal groups for product development and/or acquisition,

• Coordination of advisory councils and boards,

• Consultation for Top 25 Global customers,

• Coordination of scientific or industry publications or presentations,

• Training and development of species or product information to affiliate teams, and

• Fostering communication and development of Technical Consultants in affiliates

Basic Qualifications

• DVM, VMD or PhD in swine physiology, immunology or equivalent industry experience (5+ years).

• Possession of a thorough understanding of trial design and statistical processes with a strong attention to detail.

• Excellent “people skills”, be a good communicator (both written and oral), and be a good team member.

• Very effective presenter of technical material in both written and oral forums, by being able to present to scientific and lay community.

• Teaching ability is highly desirable.

• Developed network with swine industry technical experts, either regionally or globally.

• Must be proficient in the English language.

Additional Information

• Closely aligned with regional and global marketing swine teams on marketing plan, messaging and material development

• Work as a liaison between Elanco R & D and Global Swine Marketing team

• Works with external consultants, monitors, and investigators in PAS matters

• Key customer interactions through account management team

• Works with key external consultants and influencers

• Work with New Products Planning, Research & Development and Technology Acquisition in label development, pilot study evaluation and molecule screening

• Works with Elanco Knowledge Solutions (EKS) on production or diagnostic analysis tool development

• Because this position requires interaction with key affiliate and regional personnel, there may be meetings or communications outside of business hours.

• The candidate must be flexible for early mornings or late nights to accommodate a global schedule.
