Operation Main Street Presentation Summary

The AASV has partnered with the National Pork Board to offer Operation Main Street presentations at each of the 28 schools of Veterinary Medicine. AASV member veterinarians and student members met during the 2011 AASV Annual meeting in March 2011 to coordinate this effort. The following is a summary of the early efforts of this program.
The program launched in early January 2011 with the intent of scheduling a swine veterinarian at each of the 28 schools annually. During the first six months:
- 13 presentations were scheduled with the Schools of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State, Cornell University, Kansas State, Oregon State, UC Davis, University of Florida, University of Georgia, University of Illinois, University of Minnesota, University of Pennsylvania, University of Wisconsin, Virginia-Maryland Regional College, and Washington State
- 50% of the veterinarians trained on March 6th have been scheduled
- Combined audiences total 726 participants
