Texas to be Added to List of Brucellosis-Free States
July 13, 2011 —
USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has issued an interim rule effective May 19, 2011 to amend the brucellosis regulations concerning the interstate movement of swine by adding Texas to the list of validated brucellosis-free States. APHIS has determined that Texas meets the criteria for classification as a validated brucellosis-free State. This action relieves certain restrictions on the interstate movement of breeding swine from Texas.
APHIS will accept comments to Federal Register Docket No. APHIS-2011-0005 until July 18, 2011. The complete text of the Federal Register notice can be viewed at http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2011-05-19/html/2011-12320.htm
