Register Your Team for the AASV Foundation Golf Outing!

Time is drawing short to register for the AASV Foundation's annual Midwest Golf Outing, to be held Wednesday, August 19 at Fox Ridge Golf Club in Dike, Iowa. Individual and team registrations are due August 5.

Golfers attending the outing can expect a warm welcome at this new location, as the club is owned by AASV member Dr. Steve Menke, who practices in Ottumwa, Iowa. Dr. Menke's son, Michael, manages Fox Ridge and serves as its head golf professional. The 18-hole championship course is considered one of northeast Iowa's best public golf courses, featuring the variety of fine golf grasses typically seen only on private courses.

This year's outing promises to be more fun than ever, thanks largely to financial support for the outing provided by the event sponsors.  Sirrah Bios is hosting the beverage cart that will be making the rounds of the course as 4-person teams compete in a friendly, best-ball contest. In addition, the course will be peppered with additional contests and games to test the golf strokes of individual team members. The golf hole sponsors include Chr Hansen, DeWaay Capital Management, Fort Dodge Animal Health, HarrisVaccines, Newport Laboratories, and Pfizer Animal Health. 

Proceeds from the golf outing support AASV Foundation efforts to fund programs such as the swine externship grants for veterinary students, travel stipends for students attending the AASV annual meeting, and funding for research with direct application to the profession.
