Murphy-Brown on Schedule to Complete PQA Plus Certification

Murphy-Brown LLC has announced that the company is on schedule to complete the certification and farm site assessment components of the Pork Quality Assurance Plus (PQA Plus) program for all 480 company-owned facilities.
The company estimates that the company-owned facilities will complete certification and assessment by September 30, 2009. Officials also pledged to continue to assist the company's 1700 contract growers to achieve the same goal.
Murphy-Brown urged all 67,000 U.S. pork producers to pursue PQA Plus certification and site assessments as soon as possible. The company also encouraged all U.S. packers and processors to encourage their live hog suppliers to complete PQA Plus certification and site assessments as soon as possible.
