Where Oh Where Will IPVS Go?
June 11, 2008 —
With the 2008 International Pig Veterinary Society (IPVS) meeting rapidly approaching in Durban, South Africa it's not too early to be considering where you might like to attend the meeting in 2012.
In keeping with historical precedence, this year's attendees will determine by popular vote where the meeting will be held in 2012. Interested countries offer bids for the opportunity to host the event and participants vote for their favorite site during the closing session at this year's meeting.
It looks like it's going to be a difficult choice for the meeting following Vancouver in 2010. At least three countries have expressed an interest in hosting the 2012 event. Following are links to the websites posted by the "pig party's" prospective planners.
? Cancun, Mexico: http://www.ipvs2012.org.mx/
? Brussels, Belgium: http://www.ipvs2012.org
? Jeju, Korea: http://ipvs2012.kasv.or.kr/
Take a look at the websites and the amenities each host country is offering. They will each make an official presentation during the Durban conference and then it's up to you. Be sure to stick around to the end in order to vote for your favorite.
