AASV Committees to meet on Saturday

In a change from previous years, most of the AASV issue-based committees will be meeting on Saturday morning before the 2008 AASV Annual meeting in San Diego, CA.

In years past the committee leaders have had to schedule their committee meetings around other activities at the annual meeting. This meant that committees had to meet either in the early mornings or late evenings and often only for a short time. Recognizing that the committees form the backbone of our organization, the AASV Board of Directors elected to set aside Saturday morning to allow time for the committees to conduct an appropriate meeting.

The Board looks to the committees as "issue experts" and seeks their input with regards to issues of importance to swine veterinarians. Committees are called upon to examine an issue and advise the Board on official positions the association should take or to develop additional resources to educate our membership. All AASV members are welcome to attend any committee meeting. Below you will find a list of the time and place for the scheduled committee meetings and hyperlinks to the proposed agendas. Please take this opportunity to participate in the leadership of your association.
