Position Announcement: Veterinarian, Swine Veterinary Operations

Pfizer Animal Health, a global science and research leader in the field of animal health, has an opportunity available for a veterinarian to provide superior practical and scientific support to our internal and external customers in the North Central Region so that we may achieve a sustainable competitive advantage in the livestock industry. This individual will also serve as a scientific and technical advisor to operations staff on matters related to swine veterinary medicine.

Primary duties will include supporting the sales teams and swine customers with education on proper use of our biological and pharmaceutical products within the swine production system, assisting with sales strategy development and making presentations to affect proper sales/marketing matrix management. The selected candidate will also respond to technical inquiries, participate on product development teams, present technical seminars, and lead and enhance working relationships with key swine industry personnel, associations and universities. The individual will be expected to make and keep customer contacts, monitor personal and team performance, and keep abreast of industry trends and developments for internal implementation.

The successful individual will be a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with at least 3 years post doctoral experience in clinical practice, academia, research or industry, and possess outstanding interpersonal, management, and communications skills. Two or more years in private practice or production medicine, and advanced degree or board certification and specific research experience as demonstrated by published scientific works are preferred.
