Robert ?Bo? Manly to Chair AMI

Robert "Bo" Manly, president and COO of Premium Standard Farms, was elected Chairman of the American Meat Institute (AMI) at the Worldwide Food Expo last week in Chicago.
Mr. Manly indicated that implementing a mandatory animal traceability system will dominate his tenure as Chairman. He also indicated that he would work to overcome non-tariff-related barriers to meat trade, promote humane treatment of livestock and safe working conditions for meat plant employees according to an article on meatingplace.com.
In addition to Mr. Manly, 5 other officers were elected to lead AMI for the next year and 9 new members were added to the AMI board of directors. The complete list can be viewed on AMI's website.
