AASV-PRRS CAP meeting on Regional Eradication of PRRS at Leman Conference

An overwhelmingly positive response was received to an earlier announcement about the AASV-PRRS CAP meeting on regional eradication of PRRS. This meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 20 from 7-8 AM at the Leman Conference. The specific site for the meeting is room 6 in the River Centre Conference Center, which has seating capacity for 115 people. As a review, the objectives of the meeting are:

1. To develop a network of practitioners and scientists currently conducting studies/projects focusing on the regional eradication of PRRS. A specific aim of this objective will be to gather contact information of meeting participants along with background information on their respective projects to facilitate future communication and collaboration. Another will be to get updates from AASV members regarding the status of ongoing PRRS eradication projects.

2. To provide updates on recently funded research that will directly impact the success of future PRRS regional eradication efforts.

3. To discuss selection criteria that will be used during the scientific review process of PRRS regional eradication proposals in an effort to enhance funding.
