AVMA CVTEA Vacancy - Call for Candidates

Volunteers are invited to serve on AVMA's Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA). One position is open to fulfill an unexpired term 2022-2025.

  • Representing clinical veterinary medicine, large animal (veterinarian)

The CVTEA is a group of 20 philomathians delegated the authority and responsibility for accreditation of veterinary technology programs in the United States. Although the linked CVTEA job description will provide the official responsibilities, listed below is advice from former CVTEA members about becoming a CVTEA member:

  • Join your local library reading program and impress the librarian on the hours logged reading CVTEA reports.
  • Skip counting macros during CVTEA site visits and meetings and just enjoy the fun snacks.
  • Size up on the free AVMA jacket to allow room to layer up for walking around veterinary technology facilities in winter.
  • Recognize the significance of your seat at the CVTEA table with others dedicated to the education of veterinary technicians, but don't sit in someone else's favorite chair.
