People on the Move: Dr. David Baumert

Dr. David Baumert recently joined Zoetis as Senior Pork Technical Services Veterinarian based in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was previously staff veterinarian at JBS Live Pork (formerly Cargill Pork), where he managed the health of multiplication gilt sites, commercial sow farms, and commercial pig flows - particularly focused on eliminating Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae. Early in his career, Dr. Baumert gained over 15 years of experience serving swine and beef clients as a private practitioner/partner and three years of experience with Monsanto Choice Genetics as nucleus herd veterinarian. Dr. Baumert earned his DVM at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and did his undergraduate work at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He also has completed the Executive Veterinary Program Certificate in Swine Health Management at University of Illinois-Champaign/Urbana.
