Operation Main Street Going Coast-to-Coast to Drive Pork Demand
March 22, 2017 —
The Pork Checkoff's Operation Main Street (OMS) program continues to evolve to support the industry's highest priorities. OMS speakers are now hitting the road from coast-to-coast to help build pork demand among key food influencers. [Source: OMS, March 17, 2017]
Dietitians
For the last six years, OMS volunteers have given presentations to hundreds of dietitian groups primarily within pork-producing states. In January, dietitian groups in high population centers from New York to California were added to the OMS target list. OMS presentations are in works in states from New York, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C., to California, Arizona and Nevada.
Food Chain Partners
OMS speakers are using their expertise to pioneer new paths for outreach to our food chain partners, including state grocery associations, food councils, wholesale retailers and more. Once again, high population centers across the country are at the top of the list. Several grocery associations and a large regional wholesaler are already looking at presentation dates.
[Editor's note: Of the 26 speakers making 54 presentations in the last eight weeks, 16 are AASV members (29 presentations).]
