Register Now for Veterinary Biologics Training Program, May 15-19, 2017

Registration is now open for the Veterinary Biologics Training Program, May 15-19, 2017 in Ames, Iowa. This well-known program provides an overview of the USDA regulatory process for assuring the purity, safety, potency and efficacy of veterinary biologics (vaccines, bacterins, antisera, diagnostic kits and other products of biological origin).

During the week-long program, USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service's (APHIS) Center for Veterinary Biologics (CVB) staff deliver lectures on the requirements and processes for licensing/registration and testing of veterinary biological products. The inspection and compliance process for production, release and post-marketing surveillance of veterinary biological products is covered in both lectures and workshops.

Participants can register on a daily basis or for the entire week. Registrations are due on April 15, 2017. If space is available, late applications will be accepted. Professionals working in the veterinary biologics industry, researchers developing biologics, and regulatory personnel are encouraged to attend and learn about the most up to date CVB requirements. This course is highly regarded as an excellent introduction and review of CVB regulatory guidelines. More than 2,500 individuals have attended the program since it was launched in 1996, including 750 individuals from 90+ countries.

The Program is organized by the Institute for International Cooperation in Animal Biologics (IICAB) and is co-sponsored by the CVB and the Iowa State University (ISU) College of Veterinary Medicine.

Individuals interested in an introduction or refresher in the constantly changing field of immunology are encouraged to take the on-line course prior to attending the Veterinary Biologics Training Program.
