Attention Swine Veterinarians! MSU Needs Your Help.

Michigan State University (MSU) is participating in a study funded by USDA and the National Pork Board to investigate the use of pig behavior traits to reduce production losses. One objective of this project aims to develop, deliver and evaluate educational resources for pork industry stakeholders. MSU researchers would like to invite you to take part in an online survey to investigate the transfer of information to North American pork producers.

This follows a survey of pork producers exploring how and when they use pig behavior and behavior traits in the breeding and management of pigs. Producers were also asked to indicate where, and in what format they receive the latest information on swine management practices. As a follow-up to this, the researchers are now seeking information from swine researchers, extension educators, and veterinarians on how and what information they provide to producers.

The overall aim is to inform future pork producer education and training efforts, and identify the most important research needs.

The questionnaire contains 21 questions, and should take 10 minutes to complete. Please click on the link below to take part. Deadline for participation is January 31, 2017.
