Position Announcement: Veterinary Opportunity - Australian Pig Industry

SunPork Farms seeks a friendly, responsible, motivated, animal health professional to join our organization. Based in South Australia, this is a unique position working directly with farm and production personnel as a member of our veterinary team. You will assist in the assessment, monitoring and maintenance of animal health, delivery of training and the development of systems to optimize health, welfare, biosecurity and production.

Your animal health career will be developed with on-farm training, supported by veterinary and other specialist training across the breadth of piggery production, under the mentorship of the SunPork Farms veterinary and management teams. Continuing professional development (CPD) is strongly supported and the development of special interests is encouraged. Generous salary package includes a company vehicle, laptop, smart phone, veterinary registration and CPD.

This position would suit a large or mixed animal practitioner looking for a change, or new or recent graduates with an interest in pig production.

Candidate Attributes

  • Specialist pig, large animal or mixed practice veterinary experience preferred but not essential. New, recent or pending veterinary graduates with an interest in these areas are encouraged to apply.
  • Study in a related discipline, agricultural background, further training or demonstrated interest in pig production highly regarded.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are essential.
