AASV Members in Districts 3 & 8: Return Nomination Cards by Jan 20

Nominations for the office of AASV District Director are currently being sought in AASV districts 3 (Arkansas, Kentucky, and Missouri), and 8 (Nebraska and South Dakota). Every nomination counts, so if you've received a nomination card, please submit a nomination for your next district director. Potential candidates must be Active (veterinarian) AASV members residing in the district to be represented (Affiliate, Associate, and Student Members are not eligible to hold office or vote). Nominations must be received in the AASV office by January 20. In each district, the two nominees receiving the most nominations will be placed on the ballot, subject to their consent to serve.

In both districts, the current directors, Drs. Bill Starke and Brian Schantz, have each served two terms and are not eligible for re-election.

The newly elected district directors will begin a three-year term of office after the conclusion of the 2016 spring Board of Directors meeting in Perry on March 21.

The AASV district directors (eleven in all), along with the officers, form the governing board of the AASV. The Board of Directors meets twice annually (typically in March and October in Perry, Iowa) to set policies and conduct association business. Occasionally, the board conducts additional conference calls or e-mail discussions. For more information, contact the AASV office (Tel: 515-465-5255, E-mail: aasv@aasv.org).
