Position Announcement: Assistant Professor of Swine Immunology

The Department of Population Health and Pathobiology at North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications from qualified individuals for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Swine Immunology.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a PhD in immunology or a related field. A DVM or equivalent degree is preferred, however applications will be accepted from individuals without a DVM that have a strong track record of productivity in the field of applied swine immunology.

Responsibilities:

The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at North Carolina State University invites applications for a tenure-track position (12 month appointment) in the field of swine Immunology. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor. The goals of this position are to expand the CVM’s basic and applied programs in swine medicine and research and to support producers, veterinarians and the NC Swine Industry by developing vaccines and offering diagnostic testing and diagnostic services. There will be a responsibility to participate in the teaching of immunology courses within the veterinary curriculum and to help support the Clinical Immunology Service core at North Carolina State University.

The primary responsibility of this position is research and discovery. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in viral diseases of importance to the swine industry of North Carolina (including PEDV, PRRS, influenza virus, etc). The candidate will join a strong team of faculty dedicated to food animal production medicine and infectious disease research. Opportunities for collaboration within the College of Veterinary Medicine, the NCSU College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the North Carolina swine industry and the North Carolina Department of Agriculture Veterinary Division are excellent.

Salary:

Commensurate with candidate’s experience and qualifications
