OMS Slide Update and World Pork Expo Training

For the fourth year in a row, U.S. pork exports eclipsed the $6 billion mark. In 2014, 4.803 billion pounds of pork and pork variety meats valued at $6.674 billion were exported, up 2 percent and 10 percent, respectively from 2013.

In 2014, 26.5 percent of U.S. pork and pork variety meat were exported, adding $62.45 per hog marketed.

Classes are scheduled from Tuesday, June 2, through Friday, June 5, and include:

  • OMS 1.0 speaker training for presenting to civic organizations, high school students and technical schools
  • OMS 2.0 speaker training for presenting to higher-level audiences such as dietitians and county commissioners
  • Veterinarian speaker training for presenting to colleges of veterinary medicine, and state and national veterinary associations
