APHIS Veterinary Service Seeking Stakeholder Comments
December 10, 2014 —
Veterinary Services is seeking stakeholder feedback by January 16, 2015, on the following related documents that address reporting of, and response to, animal diseases. [Source: APHIS Stakeholder Registry Notice, October 22, 2014]
The National List of Reportable Animal Diseases (NLRAD) proposes a single, standardized list of reportable animal diseases, outlines who will be responsible for reporting, and describes how diseases are to be reported.
Veterinary Services developed the "Proposed Framework for Response to Emerging Animal Diseases in the United States" as a complement to the NLRAD. The framework will help VS identify and evaluate emerging disease events and define appropriate responses.
These documents may also be found on the APHIS website. APHIS is seeking stakeholder feedback on both documents.
