PEDv Update – October 30, 2013

The number of new PEDv case submissions reported by the veterinary diagnostic labs continues to increase. There have been 924 total accessions reported to date. No new states were added this week leaving the number of states reporting at least one confirmed case of PEDv at 18. It’s interesting to note that the weekly number of new cases was generally declining until mid-September. Reports beginning with the week of September 15 show dramatic increases in cases in NC and a significant resurgence of new cases in IA, KS, MN and OK.
