Position Announcement: Director of Technical Services, PIC Europe

PIC seeks a Director of Technical Services, PIC Europe, who will be responsible for leading the team charged with providing technical service and product support to PIC’s current and prospective customers.

REPORTS TO: Global Director of Technical Services

POSITION LOCATION: Continental Europe

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• PhD or Master’s degree in an agricultural field or DVM is preferred.

• A strong understanding of swine production practices and procedures, along with their corresponding economics.

• The ability to understand the swine business environment and identify opportunities for establishing profitable relationships with independent and integrated production operations.

• A minimum of five years' experience in leadership with proven success conceiving, implementing and leading innovative projects.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a diverse team of professionals in a solutions-based environment.

• Experience negotiating and constructing contracts that mitigate risk and result in strengthened relationships with customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that a high level of market knowledge and analysis is utilized in the formulation of strategic proposals.

• Develop and communicate the Technical Service strategy and ensure that it is reflected in operating company plans.

• Identify the needs and opportunities represented by contemporary pork producers within Europe, with discrimination toward areas of the greatest potential effect and economic relevance.

• Identify and/or develop strategies that allow PIC customers the opportunity to improve profitability and realize a greater return on investment with PIC genetics and breeding stock.

• Ensure effective management practices are employed throughout the area of responsibility.

• Prepare and defend an annual budget and see that appropriate action is taken to deliver forecasted results.

• Make every effort to see that the company maintains good standards of conduct in dealing with customers, employees and allied industry in matters relating to social, professional and ethical obligations to society.

• Domestic and international travel is required.
