AASV Members: Participate in Operation Main Street Training at WPX
May 16, 2012 —
The partnership between AASV and the National Pork Board has been very successful at scheduling opportunities for swine veterinarians to make Operation Main Street presentations at veterinary schools and talk to students about the swine industry and "hot button" topics. Veterinarians, regardless of their chosen discipline, are regarded as a source of expertise on animal issues and welfare. The goal of the partnership is to ensure that future companion-animal colleagues receive factual background information about the swine industry from a credible resource. Any AASV member interested in helping with this endeavor by becoming an Operation Main Street speaker is invited to participate in a training session at World Pork Expo on June 5th and 6th. The training will begin at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, June 5 and conclude at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, June 6. To register for the training, or for more information, contact Mary Wonders at National Pork Board (515-223-3535 or MWonders@pork.org). The deadline for registration is May 23, 2012.
