Show Your Thanks by Giving

During this Thanksgiving holiday, the AASV Foundation needs your donations to support its 2012 fund-raising auction. So, quit talking turkey and show your appreciation for the programs supported by the Foundation by donating an item.

I know you're busy carving the bird but taking a minute to make a donation shouldn't ruffle your feathers. Items aren't going to just appear on a wing and a prayer, you've got to grab the bird by the wattle and make it happen. Whether or not the Foundation will be able to get a leg up on the challenges facing our profession in the future depends on your willingness to dig DEEP in your gizzard and see what items crop up.

The auction committee was spurred into action with Warren egging them on. Thanks to their efforts, we've already gobbled up some pretty good donations and very generous financial contributions. Go online and take a gander at what's up for bid. There's not a turkey in the bunch. But, the coop's not nearly stuffed yet. So, before you get thoroughly basted and nest down after that big meal why not pick up a quill and fill out a donation form and send it in?

Remember, your Foundation is more than just window dressing. They support some pretty great programs including research, student activities, lectures, and member recognition. Their efforts help us stay abreast of the latest opportunities our profession has to offer. So, let me offer some sage advice -- it's thyme to support your Foundation. Don't let this year's auction turn out half-baked. What you get back is more than just a handful of giblets.
