International PRRS Symposium Graduate Student Fellowships
November 9, 2011 —
In 2009, the International PRRS Symposium (IPRRSS) initiated graduate student fellowships to help fund the travel of international student investigators to the IPRRSS meeting. The fellowship program is named the David A. Benfield Student Travel Fellowship, in recognition of Dr. Benfield’s contributions to PRRS research. In addition, the PRRS CAP has helped U.S. students attend the meeting. To date, 22 worthy applicants have obtained support.
Graduate student participation in scientific meetings, such as the IPRRSS, is vital for the continued growth and development of future PRRS researchers. To support and build the travel fellowship program to include access by all graduate students wishing to present his/her research, the fellowship committee, David Benfield, Joan Lunney and Bob Rowland, are requesting donations.
If you would like to help support graduate student travel, you can make your donation to:
KSU Foundation, C/O Becky Eaves, KSU CVM DMP, 1800 Denison Ave, Manhattan, KS 66506.
Contact Becky at reaves@vet.k-state.edu for more details. Donations are tax deductible and your name will be listed in the symposium proceedings as a travel fellowship donor.
