AASV Annual Meeting Well-Attended

The AASV held its 41st Annual Meeting in Omaha, Neb. March 6 - 10, 2010. The meeting, held at the Hilton Omaha and the Qwest Center, drew approximately 930 total attendees including 525 paid registrants and 125 students.

The participants were presented with more than 20 educational sessions including pre-conference workshops, two general sessions, three break-out sessions, research topics, industrial partner sessions, student seminars and poster sessions. Over 25 hours of educational presentations, 15 student presentations and nearly 60 poster presentations.

The AASV Foundation also held its annual fund-raising auction during the Annual Meeting raising over $68,000 to support student activities, research projects and other opportunities to enhance the personal and professional aspects of swine veterinary medicine. The Foundation wishes to thank all those that participated in the auction by bidding on items and those that donated items to the auction. It was a great success and fun was had by all.

In addition, the AASV committees met on Saturday morning and the Board of Directors convened at the close of the meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
