Foundation Auction – Now’s your Chance to make the Kids Really Jealous

Believe it or not, that snow covering the ground (and maybe your garage from what I hear) isn't going to last forever. Do you remember what's under all that snow? Grass. Now that the kids have left for college it's going to be up to you to keep that mowed. Sounds like it's time to buy yourself that riding mower the kids have been whining about all these years.

My friends, have I got a deal for you! Make the kids really jealous and get yourself a brand new John Deere professional series Z910 lawnmower tractor! I know what you're thinking - "my wife/husband has been wanting to remodel the kitchen/man cave and will kill me if I buy a top-of-the-line machine like that!" Well, just put those thoughts out of your mind. PIC is giving you permission to splurge on yourself. They've graciously donated one of these monster machines to the AASV Foundation to be auctioned off during the 2010 AASV Annual Meeting. They even offered to have Mark Engle come to your house and mow your grass for you but then thought who would want to own one of these beauties and not cut their own grass?

You know, come to think of it, if you could convince Dr. Engle to come mow your grass that would give you some free time to do a little recreating. How about maybe doing a little fishing? What about having someone to cook for you, bartend for you, and show you where the fish hide out? Well, if that sounds like something they only do in Canada - have we got the vacation for you! Phibro Animal Health and Quentin Bottorff have teamed up again this year to offer you and 4 of your best buddies a week's stay in a private fishing cabin in Vermilion Bay, Ontario, Canada. You may not be able to see Russia from the house, but you can see the lake.

It gets pretty darn cold up there on Eagle Lake in Vermilion so you might want to consider taking along a lovely handmade quilt. Once again, Mary Ann, wife of the late Dr. Bernie Curran (former AASV president and AASV 2007 Swine Practitioner of the Year), is putting her quilting talent to work in support of the AASV Foundation! This year's quilt will feature similar fabrics and the same cute pig with the curly tail that appeared in Mary Ann's first AASV quilt, but the new design will incorporate a star pattern. This is sure to be a favorite heirloom.

Those are just a few of the fantastic items up for bid during the AASV Foundation auction. Take a few minutes to visit the website and ponder how much richer your life would be if only you could own one (or more) of the fabulous crafts or vacations offered for bid by our incredibly generous members and allied partners. And, it all goes to support a great cause - your AASV Foundation!
