Kansas Farm Bureau Produces Documentary Addressing Livestock Welfare
November 12, 2008 —
The Kansas Farm Bureau has produced a documentary exploring the issues associated with farm animal welfare and how farmers and ranchers care about the animal's health and well-being.
Recognizing the change in consumer perceptions about the welfare of food-producing animals, KFB produced "The Care and Feeding of Farm Animals" to show how farmers and ranchers are adapting and illustrate the care, empathy and passion involved in raising animals for food.
The documentary will debut to a statewide television audience on Kansas public TV stations (KPTS, Wichita; KTWU, Topeka and the Smoky Hills public television stations in western Kansas) Monday, November 17 at 9:30 p.m. (CST). You can view a preview of "The Care and Feeding of Farm Animals" on the KFB website.
