Position Announcement: Professional Services Veterinarian

Novartis Animal Health US, Inc. has an opening in North Carolina for a Professional Services Veterinarian. A DVM degree is required.

Primary Job Purpose:

• Effectively communicate with veterinarians, distributors, swine producers, and other customers concerning NAHUS-FAB products.
• Handle questions about products
• Handle suspect adverse events (sADE) about products, etc.
• Advise Sales and Marketing and R&D on research projects.
• Consult with diagnostic lab
• Perform public speaking at trade shows, meetings, and training sessions for the sales representatives etc.

Experience:

• Good record keeping abilities
• Ability to effectively communicate
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge about swine production medicine
• Computer skills

Major Accountabilities include:

1. Effectively communicate with producers on use of NAHUS-FAB products (specifically swine products)
2. Effectively communicate with practicing veterinarians on NAHUS-FAB products (specifically swine products).
3. Prepare literature and articles for both producers and veterinarians.
4. Perform public speaking to both veterinarians and producers.
5. Effectively communicate with R&D personnel on swine related projects and swine production.
6. Advise Sales and Marketing and R&D on research projects
7. Effectively communicate with producers on problems (i.e. focus on solving problems for the producer). This function will require farm visits and associated veterinary functions such as herd exams, necropsy , clinical inspections, etc.
8. Effectively communicate with veterinarians on problems(i.e. focus on solving problems for the veterinarian). This function will require farm visits and associated veterinary functions such as herd exams, necropsy , clinical inspections, etc.
9. Effectively communicate with R&D personnel on product problems as deemed necessary.
10. Effectively communicate with management and R&D personnel on new product ideas as deemed necessary.
11. Act as a liaison on sADE with Pharmacovigilance and work actively with producers and veterinarians to resolve these concerns.
12. Effectively communicate with Regulatory Affairs Manager and R&D on needed label changes on products to avoid misunderstanding or misuse of these products.
13. Work actively with the marketing team as needed to help with advertising ideas, actual advertising copy, and ad-editor.
14. Assist Technical Services staff with sADE, including farm investigations.
15. Provide technical and sales support at trade shows and with the sales force on a daily basis.
16. Work with Territory Managers and Regional Managers to detail products to veterinarians and producers.
17. Perform public speaking to inform audiences of new product information and general scientific information at sales meetings and other professional meetings.
18. Help organize and promote NAHUS-FAB swine business unit.
