A message from Mary Ann Curran

To all my friends in AASV,

I have been going to the annual AASV meeting since 1975; Bernie and I missed just two meetings in 32 years. While he counted on the meeting for interaction with colleagues and friends, for inspiration, and for the challenge of new problems, I soon realized that through this meeting I had gained many wonderful friends as well. That was never clearer to me than this year in San Diego. I will forever appreciate the love and support you gave to me, and I am comforted by the opportunity to stay in touch with you. The remarkable series of events which led to a consortium bidding on the quilt I made in Bernie's honor, and then their returning it to me, fills me with joy and awe. I am truly humbled by your generosity. Know that I hold you in my heart, and don't be surprised if I show up again. Thank you for your friendship.
