The role of the AASV's Nutrition Committee has been to put together a pre-conference seminar for the annual meeting. The nutrition seminar is a gathering of time-sensitive topics that relate to swine nutrition, nutrient intake, animal behavior, and current trends in nutrition. The goals of the committee are to examine topics that are timely and send participants home with concepts that they can apply immediately.

The nutrition committee is a six member committee adding 2 new members yearly and serving for 3 years. We currently have one opening on the committee that we would like to fill with an international member for diversity in experiences, thoughts and ideas. There will be 2 additional open positions due to retiring committee members beginning at the annual meeting in 2008.

Swine health and nutrition cannot be separated and it has been a great experience to be involved with the AASV Nutrition Committee. Consider joining the nutrition committee or just come and see! Feel free to attend the committee meeting held on Saturday morning at the 2008 AASV Annual meeting in San Diego.
