Hardees and Carl?s Jr. to use Stall-free Pork
September 27, 2007 —
CKE restaurants, the California-based parent company of Hardees and Carl's Jr., has announced plans to purchase a percentage of their pork from suppliers that do not use gestation stalls.
The company, responding to a push from PETA, has announced that it will purchase 15% of its pork from suppliers that do not use gestation stalls. That percentage will increase to 25% by 2009. This follows a similar move by Burger King which indicated in March that it would buy 10% of its pork from stall-free suppliers.
