Dr. Edgar Diaz Named AMVEC Veterinarian of the Year

Dr. Edgar Diaz, technical manager for Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. (BIVI) swine division and an AASV member, has been named Veterinarian of the Year by the Asociacion Mexicana Veterinarios Especialistas en Cerdos (AMVEC) during its recent national conference.

Diaz received his doctor of veterinary medicine and zootecnia from the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 1989, where he also taught pathology, clinical swine diagnostics and immunology. He has authored more than 100 technical papers, articles and research bulletins on a wide variety of global swine diseases and health issues.

He began working with the BI US swine team as technical manager for porcine circovirus in January of this year. He had been professional services manager with BI Mexico since 1997.
