Position Announcement: Swine Technical Services Veterinarian

Responsibilities:

  • To provide superior practical and scientific support to both our client's internal and external customers so that the company may achieve a sustainable competitive advantage in the livestock industry.
  • Serve as a scientific and technical advisor to operations personnel on matters related to swine veterinary medicine.
  • Support and educate the swine sales force and our client's swine customers in the proper use and placement of biological and pharmaceutical products within the swine production system. Assist with strategy development and execution of the Sales Program.
  • Assist in preparation and deliver technical presentations to internal and external audiences.
  • Work effectively with sales, marketing, drug safety, and other cross functional personnel.
  • Provide sound technical advice on routine inquiries. Follow through on customer inquiries and questions are critical.
  • Respond effectively to routine complaints; fulfill all regulatory requirements with respect to reporting such complaints.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing plans if indicated and review sales pieces and other support materials for technical accuracy.
  • Participate on product teams as requested.
  • Present technical seminars to territory managers and customers as required.
  • Establish and enhance working relationships with selected key swine industry personnel, associations, and universities.
  • Call on key customers as assigned providing exceptional customer service; enhance scientific/professional image of our client's company.
  • Attend selected veterinary and professional organization meetings.
  • Monitor and evaluate personal performance and team performance. Suggest actions to improve effectiveness and productivity.
  • Stay current in assigned areas of veterinary medicine; with Manager, formulate and implement a personal development plan.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED JOB RELATED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent
  • 3 years post doctoral experience in clinical practice, academia, research or industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

PREFERRED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years or more private practice or production medicine experience
  • Advanced degree or board certification
  • Research experience, published scientific papers
