Registration deadline nears for AASV Foundation Golf Event

There is still one week to register for the AASV Foundation Midwest Golf Outing! The Ames (Iowa) Golf & Country Club will host the event on Wednesday, August 22. Intervet has several teams entered and will undoubtedly try to repeat last year's first place effort. However, the AVMA-PLIT team is determined to "insure" competition on the course! Join the fun and sign up now - register a team of four (save $50), or sign up as a single - but submit your registration by August 8. Thanks to support from sponsors Elanco Animal Health and Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, proceeds from the event will support the AASV Foundation endowment.

Golfer check-in begins at 9:00 am the day of the event. Coffee and pastries will be provided along with an opportunity to hit a few practice balls on the driving range. The 4-person team, best-ball competition begins with a shotgun start at 10:00 am. Box lunches and beverages will be supplied on-course, and a reception will follow the golfing to recognize team and individual contest winners.

Invite your clients, friends, and family members to be a part of your team! Individuals and couples are also welcome to register and will be assigned to a team. The registration fee ($125 per person or $450 per team) includes 18 holes of best-ball golf, golf cart rental, morning refreshments, lunch, and the concluding reception with awards. Proceeds from the golf outing provide support for the AASV Foundation as it seeks to "Ensure our future...create a legacy" for swine veterinarians. Income generated by the endowment enables the Foundation to fund programs such as the Swine Externship Grants for veterinary students, travel stipends for students attending the AASV annual meeting, and funding for research with direct application to the profession.
