NPB Schedules PQA Plus Advisor Training Sessions

The National Pork Board has announced the schedule for upcoming PQA Plus Advisor Training sessions.

PQA Plus was developed to address the concepts included in the current PQA Program as well as issues associated with food safety and animal well-being. It includes an individual certification program as well as an on-site farm assessment of animal well-being. The program also provides an opportunity for audits to enhance customer credibility.

Veterinarians, extension specialists and ag educators will be allowed to certify producers in PQA Plus. However, unlike the current PQA program, PQA Plus Advisors will have to have participated in a PQA Plus Advisor training program to be eligible to certify producers.
