Nominations underway for three AASV District Directors

Nominations for the office of AASV District Director are currently being solicited in three AASV districts. Nomination cards have been mailed to all eligible voters in districts 3 (Missouri, Kentucky, & Arkansas), 6 (Iowa), and 8 (Nebraska & South Dakota). Nominations must be returned to the AASV office by January 26. Potential candidates must be Active AASV members residing in the district to be represented. Affiliate, Associate, and Student members are not eligible to hold office or vote. In each district, the two nominees receiving the highest number of nominations will be placed on the ballot, subject to their consent to serve. The current directors in these districts - Dr. Tom Fangman (district 3), Dr. Pat Halbur (district 6), and Dr. Ron Brodersen (district 8) - have each completed one three year term as director and are eligible for nomination to a second term.

The district directors (twelve in all), along with the officers, form the governing board of the AASV. The Board of Directors meets twice annually to set policies and conduct association business, once in conjunction with the AASV annual meeting in March, and again in October.
