Midwest Golf Outing benefits AASV Foundation

Thanks to generous contributions from sponsors, proceeds from the Midwest Golf Outing will support the AASV Foundation endowment. Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Pfizer Animal Health, IVESCO, and Elanco Animal Health have pledged their support for the event, to be held Tuesday, August 22 at the Ames Golf & Country Club in Ames, Iowa. Golfers may register through August 10 by submitting the registration form available at http://www.aasv.org/aasv/v14n4golf.pdf, or by contacting the AASV Foundation: 902 1st Avenue, Perry, Iowa 50220, phone 515-465-5255, aasv@aasv.org.

The outing is the perfect opportunity to recognize and spend time with clients, friends, and family members. Individuals and couples are welcome to register as well as teams. Check-in for the 4-person team, best-ball competition begins at 9:00 am on the day of the event. Coffee and pastries will be provided along with an opportunity to hit a few practice balls before the shotgun start at 10:00 am. Box lunches and beverages will be supplied on-course, and a reception will follow the golfing to recognize team and individual contest winners. Registration includes 18 holes of best-ball golf, cart rental, morning refreshments, lunch, and the concluding reception with awards.

Proceeds from the golf outing provide support for the AASV Foundation as it seeks to "Ensure our future...Create a legacy" for swine veterinarians. Interest income generated by the endowment enables the Foundation to fund programs such as the Swine Externship Grants for senior veterinary students, travel stipends for students attending the AASV annual meeting, and funding for research with direct application to the profession.
