CSF Outbreak Confirmed in Croatia

The Croatian Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has notified the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) of two outbreaks of Classical Swine Fever (CSF) in Vukovarsko srijemska county.
The outbreaks occurred in domestic pigs on two small family farms in Borovo and Vukovar communes. Six of the eighteen susceptible pigs exhibited clinical signs and subsequently died. The diagnosis was confirmed by ELISA at the Croatian Veterinary Institute in Zagreb. The government has instituted numerous control measures.
