Pork Board issues PRRS request for proposals

The National Pork Board has posted the first of two calls for proposals for the 2006 PRRS Elimination Initiative. For 2006, the National Pork Board has made available $1.9M in Pork Checkoff funding to continue work on the PRRS Initiative. Three research objectives have been identified for 2006 funding: PRRSV Vaccination, PRRSV Persistent Infection, and PRRSV Elimination. The deadline for proposal submission is June 12, 2006. The complete PRRS RFP is available here. A second call for proposals for the fall will be posted at a later date.
