Position Announcement: Tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor: Bioinformatics

The College of Veterinary Medicine's Department of Veterinary Diagnostic and Production Animal Medicine (VDPAM) at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in Veterinary Diagnostic Informatics and Bioinformatics in our Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory.

This position will commit approximately 65% effort to professional practice in diagnostic medicine by leading innovation in information technology utilized by the ISU VDL to serve clients and better animal health, 30% to scholarship in bioinformatics research related to advancing the collection and use of production and animal health and disease data, and 5% effort to teaching associated with mentorship of graduate students. The incumbent will play a major role working with the VDL information technology team focusing on continuous improvement of the laboratory information management services and lead bioinformatics analysis and services across all sections of the VDL. The candidate will demonstrate commitment to delivering exceptional diagnostic service, dedication to all levels of education, and contribute to the national prominence of the ISU VDL, VDPAM, and Iowa State University.
