PRRS Database for Sequence Comparison is Available Online
September 27, 2005 — AASV Staff
The database, created under the direction of Kay Faaberg at the University of Minnesota, with funding support from the National Pork Board, contains more than 4,000 ORF5 sequences from PRRS isolates. Additional isolate information includes geographic origin, year of isolation, RFLP type and predicted glycosylation pattern.
The database will serve as a repository for all ORF5 sequence information including archived information at PRRS virus sequencing centers.
The database can be accessed at http://prrsv.ahc.umn.edu:2501/cms/published/HomePage and is available to the public to further our understanding of the PRRS virus and to help solve the problem of PRRS.
