Dr. Koohmaraie New Director of Meat Animal Research Center

The former head of the Meat Research Unit at USDA's Roman L. Hruska Meat Animal Research Center (MARC) located in Clay Center, NE, Dr. Mohammad Koohmaraie, was named center director on September 14, 2005.
The current research objectives at the MARC include exploring the biological mechanisms that regulate meat tenderness, the development of non-invasive methods for determining carcass yield and quality and post-harvest food safety research.
