CE: Opioid and Diversion Awareness Session

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will be hosting a virtual four-hour Opioid and Diversion Awareness Session (ODAS). The same session will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, and Thursday, March 11, 2021. Participants can attend either day.

This session is designed to raise awareness of the nationwide opioid epidemic as well as the risk of pharmaceutical diversion as it relates specifically to veterinarians. Topics will include the current state of the opioid epidemic in the United States; drug trends; and recordkeeping and security for controlled substances pursuant to Federal regulations.

There is no registration fee for these sessions. Each session will be held nationally from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (EST) each day. See agenda for further details.

NOTE: You must be a DEA registered veterinarian to register for a session.

This program has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB). This program has been approved for 4 hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions that recognize Registry of Approved Continuing Education (RACE) approval. Veterinarians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the program.
