Scam Alert: AASV Lodging and Mailing Lists
September 15, 2020 — AASV Staff
AASV members and exhibitors have recently received phone calls from companies purporting to handle registration and lodging reservations for the 2021 AASV Annual Meeting. These offers are scams. AASV does NOT contract with ANY third party to reserve lodging, nor will AASV or the conference hotel contact members or exhibitors to initiate reservations. At this point in time, the AASV room block at the San Francisco Marriott is not open, due to circumstances associated with COVID-19. See aasv.org/annmtg for the latest information about the meeting.
Similarly, in the past sponsors have reported receiving offers to purchase a list of AASV meeting attendees as the conference date approaches. No such list exists, as AASV does NOT sell or release conference attendee information. These solicitations are also scams.
