Mental Health Month -- Wellbeing Gatekeeper Training for Veterinarians: Learn to Identify and Refer At-Risk Colleagues, Clients
May 20, 2020 —
Gatekeeper training teaches people without professional mental health backgrounds to recognize the signs that someone may be considering suicide, establish a dialogue, and guide the person to seek professional help. This can be an immediate intervention to save lives - and it's something that anyone can learn to do.
AVMA is offering a pilot program that provides gatekeeper training to a limited number of veterinarians and veterinary students through the QPR Institute on a first-come, first-serve basis to AVMA and SAVMA members. To learn more or sign up, visit AVMA.
