Need some veterinary CE and can't travel? The Center for Food Security and Public Health at Iowa State University offers several online veterinary CE courses. All courses are RACE approved for both veterinarians and veterinary technicians. Use the links below for more information and to register.
Animal Disease Emergencies: Understanding the Response (4 hours RACE CE $100) Overview of the response to livestock and poultry disease emergencies.
Zoonoses: Protecting People and Their Pets ( 10 hours RACE CE $250) Overview of the etiology and epidemiology of a wide variety of companion animal zoonotic diseases.
Veterinary Immunology: 3 Courses
- Introduction (5 hours RACE CE $225 ) Brief introduction to veterinary immunology and vaccination. Suitable for a general audience.
- Principles of Veterinary Immunology (13.5 hours RACE CE $575) Overview of veterinary immunology with a focus on infectious disease.
- Principles of Veterinary Vaccinology (5 hours RACE CE $225) How vaccines prevent disease. Why vaccines fail. How and why vaccines cause adverse reactions.
Emerging and Exotic Diseases of Animals (46 hours RACE CE $300) The course is about emerging and foreign animal diseases: general concepts related to such diseases, overview of the planned U.S. response to such diseases, and scenarios where foreign animal diseases should be considered in addition to endemic diseases.
