Four New Directors to Serve on AASV Board

Four new AASV District Directors began their 3-year terms of office upon the conclusion of the April 1 Board of Directors' meeting, replacing Drs. Gene Nemechek, Bill Hollis, Jeff Kurt, and Blaine Tully, who each served 2 consecutive terms and were no longer eligible to run for the office.

Dr. Sara Hough is the new director in District 2, representing AASV members in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Dr. Hough is employed by DSM and lives in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina.

The new District 5 director is Dr. Attila Farkas, who works at Carthage Veterinary Service Ltd in Carthage, Illinois. He represents members in Illinois and Wisconsin.

Dr. Chase Stahl was elected the new director in District 9, representing members in Minnesota and North Dakota. He is employed by Fairmont Veterinary Clinic in Fairmont, Minnesota.

In Canada, the new District 11 director (representing the entire country) is Dr. Susan Detmer, who is employed at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.
